Real World Mysteries: Databases

Using FactCite

To use the Lincoln FactCite database for this project, I recommend that you use the "find" bar at the top of the home page, or check in "Essential Information". Please note that if you scroll down to the "additional resources" section you will be blocked as those are not owned by GVMS. Make sure you are spelling your search terms correctly and if they do no come up, try a different database or the web section of the libguide for more information.

Using WBO

To use the World Book Online database for this project, I recommend that you use World Book Student and then use the search bar at the top of the home page. Make sure you are spelling your search terms correctly and if they do no come up, try a different database or the web section of the libguide for more information.

Using Grolier Online

To use the Grolier Online database for this project, simply use the search bar at the top of the home page. Make sure you are spelling your search terms correctly and if they do no come up, try a different database or the web section of the libguide for more information.

Using Brainpop

Brainpop is a database of short videos you can watch on a variety of subjects. The following topics have Brainpop videos:

  • The Titanic
  • Dinosaurs/Fossils
  • Mummies
  • Ancient Civilizations
  • Egyptian Pharaohs
  • Leonardo Da Vinci
  • Volcanoes (Pompeii)
  • Amelia Earhart
  • Aliens

Simply click on the Brainpop link and type your topic into the search bar at the top, then click on the video to watch it. Make sure you have headphones so your video does not distract other students.
