Music Timelines: Works Cited

Noodle Tools

You will be using Noodle to create citations.  However, some websites and databases tell you how to cite their sources.  If this is the case, you are allowed to copy and paste a citation.  Just make sure you choose the MLA format.

How to Use Noodle Tools

Sign in.  You created your username and password.  I suggested that you make it the same as your computer login.  If not, there is nothing I can do to help you remember it.

Click on "Create a New Project" on the right.

Click on MLA and Advanced

Title the project "Call it Courage"

PROJECT

If you would like to add a research question or thesis statement, you may do so.

COMPONENTS - Works Cited

Select a citation type and click on "create citation"

Make sure you fill in all of the information.  If you are unsure of something, just ask!

Each type of citation is a little different, so know if you are using a database or a website!

COMPONENTS - Notecards

To create a notecard, click on "new notecard" on the left.

Give your Notecard a title.

If you are working from a website, add the URL to your notecard so you always remember where the information came from.

You may copy and paste from a website to the left hand side of your notecard.  Then paraphrase on the right hand side and add your own ideas in the bottom section.

You can categorize your notes by adding "tags" if you want.

SHARING

To share with your teacher's dropbox, click on "share project with a teacher's dropbox".  You will be told what this assignment dropbox is called, then add your first and last name too.
